Recruiting Radar – Jumbo Athlete Jacob Hunt

Exactly one month ago Jacob Hunt from Darlington high school did not have an offer. But that all changed following day, when Stetson became the first school to offer. From there, the recruiting snowball did not stop rolling, and the next school to offer was Georgia Southern, who was quickly followed by Tulane, and now the 6’4″ 250-pound jumbo-athlete has 9 offers.

This is quite the turn of events for a player who had seen his recruitment remain under the radar for most of the offseason, but such is the way of the current college football recruiting landscape. Hunt now holds FBS offers from Charlotte, Ball State, Tulane and Georgia Southern at the moment – local college Kennesaw State has offered recently as well.

The big bodied athlete moves well and can get up field quickly to seal off important blocks. He is relentless at getting after the defender and we really like his leg drive when blocking. The 2018 recruit was a very important player last year for Darlington, stopping and starting the run game on both sides of the ball. He has really strong hands and sheds his blocks almost immediately on the defensive side of the ball.

Considering his frame, Hunt could also slide over to the offensive line, which considering his athletic prowess and light feet, would make him a potential terror in the trenches. Hunt also sports a 3.8 GPA and has already scored a 25 on the ACT.

Whether Hunts ends up on defense or offense, he has certainly caught the attention of college coaches, and is a recruit to watch this summer. Click HERE to visit his recruiting profile.
