The Westside QB has been playing pretty good football now for over 12 months, and his junior year you are seeing a lot of the tools come together. I like the trajectory in which he throws the football. The 2020 QB does a really good job of leading his receiver and lofts the pass out so he can run under the football. At the same time Dixon can fire a pass 35 yards down the middle of the field with pretty good velocity. Overall, his arm strength is a big asset, and not even stepping into some throws he can unleash some bombs 50 yards down field. Dixon doesn’t run the football too much, but when he does he looks more than proficient enough. He’s a believer in his arm, but would like to see him make the more secure pass underneath, especially on some of these roll outs where he chooses the higher risk/reward option – should see completion percentage go up. Still, he shows good patience most of the time, and does a pretty good job of going through his progressions, but eyes tend to stick at times. Needs to work on his release point a little and just being quicker with his mechanics and be more consistent with his footwork. He’s definitely improved as a passer as a whole. What I like about Dixon more than anything is his touch from the intermediate range (not everything is a bulled), and he does a nice job of lofting the pass over the 2nd level of the defense and hits his receivers in stride.
