Gilmore ran a 10.7 100m and was runner-up in the 100m in 2-A this offseason. Simply put, the 2022 athlete is one of the fastest players in the state of Georgia. As a cornerback prospect, he does look very good in run support, and since he is playing in a region that almost exclusively runs the football he doesn’t get a ton of reps. Gilmore is athletic as can be though. He is a quick-twitch player with strong hips. Several tackles out in the flat he really shows good explosion dropping his hips and unloading a tackle. Very quick jumper and timing passes. Also like how he gets his head turned around and attacks the pass. Right now, Gilmore is mostly under the radar. The 100m time has increased his interest to some extent. His ability to change directions in coverage is impressive, he does a really good job of reacting to the receiver. Gilmore is set to be the next big time rusher coming out of Washington Co. this upcoming fall. Wouldn’t be surprised if he approaches 2k yards, which might continue to keep his DB recruitment falling through the cracks. He is an absolute must camp athlete. The upside here is legit, and with the right coaching he could end up being an All-Conference player at the FBS level. A year ago this time Gilmore was measuring in at 5’8″ and 149 lbs., and his newest measurements are much more favorable for an FBS CB. Seems like the 2022 recruit is someone you definitely want to see in person.
