It took a few games, but once we realized that Johnson was taking over games, and leading his team to W’s, then we got him to fill out the recruiting form. The 2021 recruit has an angular body type, and really just beginning to put on weight. He is a tough runner though, driving his legs through contact. Admittedly more interested in seeing Johnson on the defensive side of the football, where he projects well at the SS/OLB spot. Plays football with a ton of determination – just seems to have that x-factor about him. Pretty good acceleration and plays just so hard. Against Brantley County Johnson was an unstoppable force and must have easily gone over 200 yards rushing. Very quick getting around blocks, does a nice job getting low on his tackles too. Reminds a little of Charlie Thomas from Thomasville from a few years back, but doesn’t have the same weight lifting #’s just yet.
