Scheuerman has gained 50 lbs. over the last few years, and senior year he has topped out at 225 lbs. The 2022 recruit is a hard worker, and even though he has trained a considerable amount of time at TE, he looks pretty good playing off the edge on defense. Scheuerman plays with intensity. He engages with blockers with strong hands at the point of attack, and we like how light he looks in the feet getting around blockers. There is good hip flexibility, the 2022 recruit is a functional athlete. He attacks the offensive lineman but would like to see him utilize his hands more to get off blocks. That was an area of focus going into his senior year. The 2022 prospect also got some reps at h-back, but like his upside more on the defensive side. He’s got great academics, and his strong junior film should get the attention of a lot of D1 programs. Scheuerman is a solid recruit, he is an excellent student who has made good progress each year of high school, and really found a home playing off the edge. He was even team captain his senior year. We think he can top off at around 240-250 at the college level and think he has some good upside in the weight room as well. Definitely a good recruit to go after.
