Macon County WR’s ran wild in 2020, and quickly the team moved up to the top 10 in Class A Public. The super quicker slot receiver who also plays QB was a high production football player with excellent quickness getting out of the tackle box and escaping upfield. Austin shows very good speed and quickness getting around defenders. He smoothly makes cuts and is elusive juking out defenders. Austin has good speed. He is a natural at running behind his blockers and has above average patience. Austin has another gear to his speed. He accelerates quickly to what looks like his top speed, but another 10 yards and Austin seems to move faster and can stride out separating himself from the defense. There is little doubt he cannot play slot at the D1 level. Austin shows the open field running instincts in combination with his quickness and speed to be a dangerous weapon in college. As a receiver he runs decent routes, and shows above average hands going up and snagging football over defensive backs. His background in basketball certainly helps with his timing. He has a slight frame for sure though, and worried how much weight he’ll ever truly put on.
