Wilkey has some impressive film from his junior year. The cornerback prospect makes really quick cuts and shows a good explosive first step. You can see his ability to make those speedy quick cuts in space with a lot of his offensive film where he makes impressive cutbacks. Wilkey is pretty fast and we like his ability to flip his hips and stick with a receiver. He’s a solid tackler, gets low, and shows good explosiveness through the hips. Would like to see him keep his head up when tackling, and settle into the tackle with choppy feet, which should help react to last-second jukes by the ball carrier. Wilkey looks to be the most consistent tackler among the DBs at Adairsville, so he plays primarily FS, but it looks like CB or nickel would be a more fitting position at the next level. We like the strength, good body control, and overall football IQ. Wilkey is an interesting sleeper prospect to keep an eye on. Wilkey needs to focus on his coverage skills this offseason. He has a good frame, and quickness to be a solid cover cornerback. There is good athletic upside for Wilkey at the next level for a D1 program to develop.
