Smith committed back to Reinhardt back in March. He’s a smart versatile football player who plays quarterback and safety at Gilmer. You have to like his command of the offense. He carries out his fakes very well and does a very good job of leading his receivers down field. Smith is a high IQ football player. He reads the open field pretty well, and that helps with his passing to go along with running with the football. He sets his feet quickly and has a compact quick release. Like his timing on these slant passes especially. Smith is a quality football player, and wouldn’t be surprise to see him make another good jump his senior year. He was a first team safety last year and made HM at QB in his region. Smith is now 10 lbs. up from last fall, interested to see how he is running with the ball with the added muscle.
