What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

First team-all region as a sophomore, Defensive player of the tear (team, 2019), older brother plays D1 lacrosse.

Gay was an undersized linebacker for Johns Creek. Standing at 6′ and 190 lbs., the 2022 plays with intensity that makes up for his smaller frame. What stands out the most about Gray is his ability to hit top speed and attack an offense. He’s very quick at getting into the backfield, and Johns Creek takes advantage of that acceleration even playing him on offense in short yardage situations where he just goes tumbling into the LOS. Gay is a fearless defender. He is an obvious impact player on special teams, and seems to a very good job of reading the ball carrier and closing the gap with little errors in the process. He is very good at reading against the run. Gay will definitely have to play NB or SS at the next level. He shows some decent upside in coverage, but his running instincts are his best qualifier at this point. Definitely like how he sets up his tackle attempt, shows quick choppy feet and does a nice job of keeping his pads parallel to the LOS. Gets off a lot of blocks, especially against OL, Gay should be very impactful at the next level playing against screens off the edge.
