Torrico had 136 tackles his junior year and made All-State unanimously. The long time starter for Blessed Trinity became a lot more powerful over the last year, and that really helped with his explosiveness to the football and how he finished his tackles even. Torrico has always been a consistent player with good fundamentals, but his athleticism really caught up with his skill level in 2021, and he showed out. The 2023 athlete is a patient player who reads the play well and gets a good jump. He is very good at reading the QB’s eyes, and that helps a lot when in pass coverage. Pretty good at getting depth in coverage and reading the route tree. Really like his acceleration to the football. Cannot say how much that has improved and he is showing solid top end speed to the football. Torrico is a smart-savvy linebacker whose IQ is one of the best in this recruiting class. He has a great motor on the field, plenty of backside tackles. His tackling is fundamentally sound and he does an excellent job of driving his legs through the attempt. Continuing to fill out and just getting stronger while also improving his agility would be welcomed developments this offseason. Torrico is a rock-solid linebacker in this class. He’s not an elite athlete nor does he have ideal size, but we really like his instincts and feel for the game regardless.
