Heath is a multi-year starter who came into the high school ranks with a ton of accolades. The senior flows to the football and looks to be an explosive tackler, generating a lot of force through the hips and driving his legs through the ball carrier. Heath is tenacious with active hands getting off blocks and has really good balance to keep upright off chip blocks and continue to rush the passer. He covers the distance between him and the ball carrier with little wasted steps. Heath’s relentless pursuit cleans up a lot of tackles, and you have to like the efficiency in how quickly the ball carrier goes down. We haven’t seen much from senior year yet, so no idea how he has progressed athletically, but you would like to see improved lateral quickness, how he looks more in pass coverage, etc. Either way, Heath is a rock-solid linebacker with some of the better run instincts of any backer in his class.
