Renfro is an edge defender with a pretty good burst coming off the line and a nice motor getting after the ball carrier too. There is little doubt that the 2024 prospect has good strength, his weight lifting #’s support that. There is a lot of potential for Renfro on the field, he is a naturally strong athlete considering his more wirey type frame. We would like to see him be more active with his hands getting off blocks, and just be more physical at the point of attack. Renfro is pretty raw in that respect. Jumping into his spring game highlights, and first thing that jumps away is how quickly Renfro is getting into the backfield compared to last fall. The rising senior looks much faster at the point of attack. There has been a nice jump here in terms of his potential as a pass-rusher, but now the key is to build off the spring game and show he can do it this fall. Colleges definitely need to keep close tabs on the plus athlete in the coming months here.
