What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

My skill set at the position

Echols had some solid talent to toss the ball to at Alexander in ’22, and the senior was able to really showcase his touch in the process. He does a solid job of stepping up into the pocket, standing tall and delivering very catchable passes. I really like how climbs up the pocket and sees the field. He is able to make some really tough passes with a lot of pressure around him. He is definitely a poised QB who can react well in the pocket and then have the athleticism to outrun the pursuit and fire passes to open receivers. He makes several passes scrambling out to the sideline where he throws the ball on a line and hits the receiver in stride. That said, he does at times throw off balance, and that can definitely lead to some turnovers. Echols has a lot of tools to work with. His prowess in the pocket in combination with his good release point shows that he has been trained well. Continuing to sharpen up his passing and improving his arm strength should be a focus, but honestly, above all else, we would like to see him become more explosive as a runner. He does a nice job of buying time and getting outside of the pocket, but we want to see him be a bigger threat as a runner. Echols at the end of the day should be a D1 target. He will be at South Gwinnett this fall, where he will have taller receivers to throw to, which actually might help him showcases his throwing touch even better. Definitely a prospect to watch out for during the 2024 recruiting cycle.
