With 115 tackles on the year, DeRoche was consistently producing at a high level for his team. The steady linebacker plays with a good bit of patience and does a good job of reading the play. Once he has a beat on the play, DeRoche gets downhill with urgency and uses his good acceleration to close on the football. He takes solid pursuit angles and hustles his tail off to the ball carrier. Fills the hole well, again the patience pays off for the 2025 linebacker, he seems to consistently make the right read. With 75 solo tackles on the year, the Cass 2025 linebacker is consistent at getting the ball carrier down. He wraps up and strikes low. Plays well with his hands, getting good leverage while taking on blocks. Considering that he is more undersized, DeRoche needs to take a jump with his pass coverage. He shows some good upside with nice hip swivel and had a nice play where he gets good depth in zone coverage to pick off a pass, but we would like to see more. That will certainly be an area of attention for college programs during the camp season. Overall, he’s a rock-steady linebacker who plays with solid fundamentals and a great motor.
