Williams is a strong athlete who is still finding his way onto the field outside of being a punter. He played off the edge for Tattnall County, where he was physically getting off blocks and making assisted tackles. There is little doubt in his explosive nature, and his latest weight-lifting numbers are headlined by a 300 lbs. power clean. That’s impressive and for a punter potentially the best in the state. Williams can be more than a special teams player, and now at Pierce County, Williams has the opportunity to fill into a linebacker role led by 2024 Carson Sloan. Those are some big shoes to fill, but as he becomes more comfortable on defense, his athletic ability will continue to grow. Don’t entirely sleep on Williams just yet, even though his film has a smattering of punting with a few defensive plays on the side.
