Thompson is an electrifying two-way player that has a lot of the Mitchell County staff talking him up big time in the spring of 2021. He plays off the edge and also WR. The 2021 recruit certainly has long arms, he does a nice job of scraping off blocks coming off the edge. Extremely impressive closing on the ball carrier. Frame definitely looks legit. Hands are strong, catching the football away from his body. Route running definitely needs some more work though. The easiest transition at the moment is playing at OLB at the next level, but I am impressed with the desire to get off tackles and fight for extra yardage. His versatility will certainly grab the attention of D1 programs, and it’s really about him producing more his senior year, but athletic upside is enticing.
