Thorpe is a big jumbo athlete who gets most of his reps at RB, but at the next level looks lot more like like a defensive lineman. The big athlete has a smooth running stride, but what is impressive is how he is able to change directions pretty quickly at the line of scrimmage. Thorpe is a serious load with the ball in his hands and he does a nice job getting his pads low before contact. Thorpe is definitely a FBS athlete. He’s got a great body composition and carries his weight extremely well. So the red flags right now are that Thorpe is only on the offensive side of the ball, and he simply just doesn’t have the top end acceleration for the position. His highlight is promising, but it’s worth noting there are several repeats from different angles on the field, and it does look like his overall production was pretty low on the year. Thorpe is also a baseball player, so that could also play into his college decision.
