Stowers ran one of the fastest laser 40 times that we have seen the last few years with a 4.74 40 and that’s out of almost 300 athletes now. The quick little athlete is a dynamic returnman with several long returns that came at critical points too. He is a slick runner with the ball and his top end acceleration allows him to stop and go on a dime. He was absolutely one of the best returners in Class A. Nice deceptive running style and seems to make very smart cuts to avoid the tackler. Needs to continue to work on his top end speed considering his size. I would also like to see him get some more reps at RB or WR. If he’s not on special teams then most of his film is at DB and more times than not at FS. Stowers uses his excellent acceleration to cut underneath routes and has a good bit of PBU’s. Really like how he rakes the pass out and doesn’t just go for the big hit. That’s a pretty consistent theme to his film. He could really stand to get stronger in the hips, which should in turn help his acceleration.
