Stephens had one of the longest interceptions of the 2023 season for Alcovy. The long defensive back prospect stands around 6’1″ and most notably has gained almost 20 lbs. since the summer of 2023. That’s a huge 20 lbs. leap in about 9 months. Stephens does a nice job of attacking the pass and using his length to rake the football out. He does a nice job with his guide hand and negotiating the receiver in the direction he wants without warranting a flag on deep passes. Stephens is a good tackler in space, and that should only be improved with the added weight. He does a good job of getting downhill in the flat and I really like his approach into a tackle showing quick-choppy feet and above-average reactions. Stephens is the type of athlete that we have seen really blossom under the weightlifting program and training over at Newton, so keep an eye out this evaluation period.
