Blount is a powerful looking 6’2″ athlete with a frame that will just pour on weight at the next level. Takes very good angles – anticipates the play and has a good feel at reading the football. Blount should be closer to 240-250 by the time he is in college. It would be interesting to try him at LB, he definitely has the athleticism and frame to play either OLB or even MLB too. The powerful 2020 defender rotates hips over well, changes directions which makes him tough vs the read option. Blount is an all-out type of player, he comes off the edge with excellent energy, and uses his hands well to get off blocks. Blount will surely get a ton of camp invites to see how he looks at linebacker, personally I think his lateral quickness is good enough that it could translate well as a 3-4 D1 OLB. I would like to see him do a better job of setting the edge on film and pushing the ball carrier back into pursuit.
