James has been the best player in his region for a few years now. He plays safety primarily, and is usually one of the top tacklers in Class A. James has good reactions to the plays and gets downfield. He has excellent agility, which allows him to get around in coverage and make lightening quick plays out in the flat or also down the middle where he reads the pass. James flies to the football. His top end acceleration is excellent. He tackles well, getting low and with a lot of impact. We like the lower body strength, the explosive hips. The huge motor getting out to the sideline to make plays, even breaking up passes. James is a nickle at the next level, but he’s an excellent one at that. He will need time to get better in coverage, but his instincts and tenacious mindset on the field will translate.
