What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

I was first team all- region and third team all-area.

Welch has a nice family background at the sport, and does a solid job playing both FS and WR at Aquinas. He’s pretty physical at the point of attack when blocking, but where that intensity shines thru the most is his tackling at free safety. Welch hits with authority, and times contact right when the ball comes into the receiver. He has good ball skills, does a nice job of catching the ball away from his body. Really like how he squares up his shoulders before making a tackle, and he does a nice job of getting low on his attempts too. Welch made some really nice high-pointed catches and shows nice body rotation adjusting to the pass. I like Welch a whole lot more at FS, he goes into a tackle with very good intensity and has excellent balance making a play. Only 175 lbs. but hits with a lot more power than originally expected, and blew up a 220 lbs. athlete from Mt. De Sales a few times in 2019. He’s only added a little more to his frame, but there is little doubt that Welch can play this game, and I’m really impressed with the turnovers he is creating in 2020, and also returning back for a touchdown.
