Baker was Mr. Clutch for Pierce County late in the year, especially in the state title game where he had two interceptions. Baker is very good at playing the football up top, attacking the pass and showing good timing in the process. He is very good at jumping routes and reading the QB’s eyes. Very smart football player, does a nice job of moving laterally, which allows him to excel in man coverage. Baker is a solid tackler too considering his was just 170 last fall. He wraps up low and at the thighs. Baker definitely needs to add on weight. Several moments on film where he is blocked off the ball, but relentless enough to just keep coming at it. Goes full tilt diving out to break up a pass, made a pretty incredible play against Oconee’s 4 star TE in coverage.
