Coleman Cauley – MLB
First Presbyterian Day

#13 LINEBACKER

HT: 6’2″
WT: 215
GPA: N/A
Class: 2022

Cauley was one of the leading tacklers in Class A Private in 2020. He has a pretty good frame at 6’2″ and does a nice job of digesting the play. His height to see over the LOS certainly helps. Cauley has pretty strong hands knocking over several big OL, one that went FCS in the class of 2021. He is an efficient tackler meeting them at the midsection and wrapping up at the thighs. Drops his hips and gets good leverage. Not sure he weighs 215 lbs., but think he should be able to add weight well at the next level. Has decent speed once he gets ahead of steam. Cauley is a finisher. His tackles are impactful and he drives his legs through the ball carrier stopping them right in there tracks. He has a great motor getting out to the sideline making tackles. Just a pure football player who takes smart pursuit angles. Was really impressed seeing him track down one of the quickest athletes in Private last year from a touch angle. He consistently gets a great jump on each play. Right at the snap Cauley is shading a direction and he is a real natural at reading and reacting to a play. Cauley should get up to around 230’s without losing much of his speed, and if he can continue to sharpen up his lateral quickness then I think he could be a really solid MIKE at the next level.
