Cavin is a promising big athlete at 6’5″. He has gained 30 lbs. over the last year, and wouldn’t be surprised to see him well over 250. Cavin is an enticing recruit. He moves fairly well for a TE, but if you follow his weight progress then playing OT seems like a promising prospect. He is a good blocker. Keeps a flat back while engaged with good leg drive. Good hand placement at the point of attack. Cavin is one of those recruits that could really make a jump in the last year here as an OT. He is a tenacious blocker, and think his upside is the highest at OT and worse he can be a more traditional blocking TE that gets up to around 260, but seems with the right focus he can be even bigger. Cavin hasn’t grown as expected and still holding at around 230 lbs which is surprising after the weight he poured on soph-junior year.
