What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?
What makes me stand out as a future collegiate athlete is my drive to outshine the person next to me. I might not be the biggest or fastest but I won’t back down from a fight. I have no accolades and I had 9 catches for about 125 yard and 1 touchdown with 2 tackles.
Burley made a really nice catch at the national prep camp this spring, so we definitely jumped into grab his info. At 6’4″ and a solid 245 lbs., Burley is a big blocking type tight end with above average hand-eye coordination. To be honest though, his film indicates much greater upside on the defensive line where his good reactions at the snap and nice top end acceleration allows for him to get into the backfield quickly. Burley has pretty strong hands at the point of attack. Gets around blockers with a few nice swim moves. The biggest question is where does Burley fit at the next level? Is he a SDE or a DT who just needs more time to develop. Not sure if he’s actually 6’4″, but the weight definitely looks legit and he carries it well. All things considered, Burley is an enticing jumbo-athlete to watch this summer and fall to see if he made a jump or not.
