What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

I'm a leader. I come out everyday to work with a great attitude. I play for my brothers. I know that grades come first and I thank God everyday for allowing me to play ball.

Wood is one of the best all-around runners in the state of Georgia. He has been dominating the NE corner since his sophomore year, winning Class AAA offensive player of the year as a sophomore. Against any type of competition, we have seen Wood raise his level of play – he is the ultimate competitor. Over the last few years he has managed to add on weight, going up 20 pounds and is right at 188. One aspect to his game that we like his hands. Wood is dangerous coming out of the backfield, and could be a dynamo for any FBS team on 3rd downs. His vision is outstanding, he sees the field so well, and makes well timed cut back against the grain. Wood might not be an every down back at the FBS level, but he can certainly make an impact. At the FCS level we think he can carry the main load. He is also a really good cornerback, and a textbook tackler out in space.

  1. Man I don’t know if he’s just A great player or if his O-line is just amazing. But hes the work horse he gets about 40 carries a game and it’s like he only gets better each carry!

VERY impressive kid! Got a chance to watch him in rising seniors week, very athletic and very good when he gets the ball in his hands. Not the biggest guy but he will definitely get bigger and he is one of those guys that just has instincts for the game and when he gets the ball in his hands!

  3. One of the best kids I have ever met! He is humble and polite which to me goes a long way when you are the star of a community. He would rather talk about other team mates and how well they had preformed on Friday night.
Another note to add to the outstanding high school career is he probably has played 95% of snaps the whole time offense and defense…. Still able to rush for 4000+ yards in three years and maybe 70 something touchdowns. While being a great corner. Best performance I seen him at corner is when coaches matched Colby against Charlie Worner from Raburn. 6-4 200+ pounds against 5-9 170 pound sophomore and Colby shut him down.

Wood is a phenomenal player, and has great speed and athleticism. He’s very impressive and puts up massive numbers. The only knock is his size, but he seems to overcome it each and every Friday night. The only way he won’t put up big time numbers every Friday night is if he’s not on the field. If he were just a few inches taller, he’s probably have more D1 offers than I could count on my fingers and toes. He deserves an opportunity to shine, and will definitely get one.
