Reid stands at 6’2″ and like many McIntosh Co. Acd. defenders he plays with some swagger. He gets down hill and attacks the play, making several interceptions. Reed is looking to blow the ball carrier up. His tackling fundamentals are lacking, but he shows good intensity and gains momentum into contact. Reed’s length seems to be legit. He does need to continue to fill out his frame but shows solid strength at the point of attack. Early senior film shows much better tackling fundamentals where he is sinking his hips and making tackles in space. Reed has decent upside, but would like to see him play with more urgency flowing to the football. Will need to come back and see more film later this fall, but I’m intrigued by the improved tackling already, especially against a 6A team.
