What makes you stand out as a future collegiate athlete?

I had to sit out my sophomore year of high school because of transfer rules but I am ready to show schools why I have dominated at this position for years.

About halfway through the 2023 season, Christian Smith started to make a legitimate impact on the field. The 6’3″ 230 lbs. edge has gained about 25 lbs. since his junior year. He has a 2nd gear that is near-elite for his position. He has topped out running a 21 MPH sprint, a 4.152 shuttle time (laser), and an 82″ wingspan – these metrics just scream P4 athlete to me. That said, Smith is still putting everything together. He does a nice job of getting off blocks and shows good urgency to the football. Really like the amount of tackles he makes working from the backside to make a tackle. Smith has good hand activity and his length is a huge advantage. Getting his pad level lower should help with his leverage even more. There are certain cases where Smith’s potential is just too exciting. Watching him get skinny as he stunts through the gaps or dips his shoulders to get around an offensive tackle on the edge shows his flexibility, length, and speed to be an All-Conference level pass-rusher if he realizes his potential. Smith has some great progress over the last year, and if he continues at this rate FBS programs will not be able to pass up.
