Balliew out of Calhoun has been a two year starter for the program. The 6’6″ 275 lbs. blocker smashes his side of the line, showing good strength and explosiveness at the point of attack. He shows good body control and hand placement while engaged. Pancakes could be more prominent, but overall I really like the speed and aggression getting to the 2nd level. Balliew needs to improve his footwork and just getting more agile in general. He’s got good upside, but need to see him finish off his blocks better at this moment. Still, his upside is pretty good, and should attract the attention of P5 programs, especially if he shows progress as a pass blocker.
