Sauls has quick reactive feet and excellent drive at the point of attack. We are really impressed with quickness not just out of his stance, but also just in space where can get out and make blocks on the perimeter. Sauls is pretty strong at the point of attack, but that also where he can improve the most. He is fairly good at pass protection, but will be sliding to either OG or C at the next level. Sauls is well trained though, he has good hand placement, keeps his feet driving and even shows a solid kick step coming out of his stance when pass blocking. We like the reactivity and motor he shows on film. Sauls is really one of the legit surprise recruits among offensive line in this class among the seniors. He might not have the size a lot of schools are looking for, but he is a quality blocker with an excellent motor. We are super impressed with the strength in his hips, the lumbar strength and how he keeps a flat back while being engaged. He must have long arms too, because he gets quality leverage. Don’t be surprised to see Sauls on our All-State team at the end of the season. His film is legit.
