Gilbert is the returning passing leader in class 3-A throwing just under 3000 yards last season. He has a real cannon, and can sling the ball on a line 30-50 yards down field no problem. He uses his outstanding arm strength to exploit zone defense especially. He has a good feel in the pocket, flushes out when feeling pressure and does a great job keeping his eyes down field. Gilbert is a well schooled QB, he steps up into the pocket and goes through his progressions. This upcoming season we would like to see him continue to improve as a runner, which could really attract some FCS attention.
