King is a bouncy 2020 athlete with solid change of direction. He gets his pads pretty low when taking on contact which allows him to push the pile. We really like how he hits the hole, and does a good job of getting upfield. He reads his blocks, sets them up with a hesitation move, and burst through. Where he seems to be the most gifted is as a receiver – he shows elite concentration making really tough grabs, and we think that is a skill he can continue to build on. King is almost 20 lbs heavier this year going into the season, and should be absolute load running between the tackles. He has really light feet moving in between the tackles, but still think he can improve his flexibility more in the hips. The 2020 recruit has an interesting skill set for his size, his ability to split out wide and make plays in the passing game is a skill set that is becoming more of a trend in D1 running backs. I like his forward lean when running the football too, he breaks through a good bit of tackles just on having good pad level.
