Player Spotlight: Ricky Trejo MLB, Georgia Christian

Ricky Trejo was a do-it-all guy for Georgia Christian the last three years, but his primary position, linebacker, is where he projects best at the next level. At 6’1″ and 215 pounds, he has the ability to play every position on the field at the high school level and did so at one point or another during his career, excluding quarterback. Trejo’s athleticism is also on display on the basketball court, where he is a starter at power forward for a competitive Generals basketball team.

Back to football, where Ricky has plenty of accolades and his stats reflect that. During his sophomore year, he was named first-team all-region in GISA. As a junior, he would do even better and was named first-team all-region, first-team all-state and In The Game magazine’s Defensive Player of the Year.

As a senior, he played just seven games, but he would not disappoint in the games he did play. He finished with 58 tackles, seven for a loss, and also dropped QBs for three sacks. Trejo has a nose for the football and forced three fumbles this year, recovering one as well.

The Georgia Christian senior had a solid season despite some of his missed games. This season, he finished first team all-region for the third year in a row and also got an invitation to the GISA All-Star Game at The Westwood School, where he played impressively.
