Panther’s Pluck Speedy Back Cam Adams

Cam Adams, a rising senior running back at Milton HS, committed to Georgia State today. The fleet-footed running back made his commitment official when he tweeted:

Georgia State offered Adams early this year on February 27 after evaluating the speedy back’s film. Several FBS colleges were interested in Adams (per panthertalk.com) including: Nebraska, Purdue, Kentucky, Air Force, Middle Tennessee, Iowa State, GT, Duke and Tulane. In the end it was his relationship with the coaching staff that won his services.

“I definitely connected with the coaches on my visit to the school, and we all have the same goals in mind for athletics and academics,” Adams said.

hqdefaultThe Atlanta school is a short drive down GA 400 from Milton HS, and their football program is young. They rotate a lot of running backs in their offensive system, which also appeals to the electrifying back.

“Georgia State is a very young team and I feel like I would have more of an opportunity to play on the team early on.” Adams continued, “Not to mention that it’s very close to home and my family can support me with ease.”

Adams, who is 5’8″ 180-pounds, has the ability to score from anywhere on the field using his sub-4.4 forty time. He used that blazing speed to total 1300 yards and had 13 touchdowns last season.

After reviewing his spring film, Adams looks to have improved his strength running in-between the tackles. He is also continuing to develop his signature spin move, which typically leaves defenders in the dust.

Milton’s star back will be a threat on third down passing situations at the next level. Adams showcases soft hands on screen passes and balls out on the flat.

With his decision finally made, Adams is ready to turn his focus to his senior year of football. “I can concentrate more on my senior season now that the recruiting process is over,” he said emphatically.

Adams’ commitment gives the Panther 11 for the Class of ’17 and their 6th from the Peach State.
