Meet McEachern Senior Dwayne White

McEachern senior Dwayne White is the most recent winner of Recruit Georgia’s Week 10 top play. The 2018 standout cover corner made by far the biggest hit we saw last weekend against North Paulding.

The monstrous collision occurred on a screen pass out to the sideline that the senior cornerback read perfectly. He showed off his elite acceleration, and got downhill lowering the boom, and consequently sending the ball carrier straight onto his back.

It is impact plays just like that by White that has college’s very interested in his pigskin abilities. He talked about how his senior year at McEachern has gone so far.

“My season is going great so far. I haven’t given up anything deep nor a touchdown – that’s why I talk about White Island,” White said.

White (5’11” 173 lbs) is a coverage corner specialist with great instincts in man coverage. The senior is lightening quick, and makes innate breaks on the pass. His long arms and tenacious play-style allows him to rake the ball out of would-be receiver’s hands.

White can certainly make an impact at the next level, there is no doubt about it. “My biggest strengths is reading the offense and being able to make calls. My speed plays a big factor as well; I’m very physically gifted, and I love to use my physicality,” he said.

The star defender currently holds offers from Lenoir-Rhyne, Notre Dame College, Austin Peay, Western Carolina, UMass and West Georgia. He spoke about how his recruitment has been going lately.

“I’ve heard from really all the schools who have offered. I’ve only been on one visit so far, and that was to Western Carolina.”

In terms of visits, more schools are sure to be joining the Catamounts in the coming months, especially when they view his senior film. This year especially, he is showing a lot of physicality out in space, and he’s really dropping the hammer to ball carriers in the flats. When coupled with his outstanding coverage skills, we are certain more colleges will pursue, and get the senior to take a visit.

For the final stretch, his McEachern squad will most likely make a deep run in the playoffs in the wide open Class 7-A this year. The pressure will be at an all-time high in these final games of his high school career, and “White Island” will be tested more than ever against the top players in Georgia, which should help cement his status as a true FBS recruit.
