Max Boyd Commits to Lenoir-Rhyne

MORE COMMITMENT NEWS

Roswell senior defensive tackle Max Boyd committed to Lenoir-Rhyne on January 23rd soon after taking an official visit. On Monday, the 2017 recruit announced his commitment when he tweeted:

Boyd chose the Bears over offers from Delta State, Carson-Newman, Pikeville and several others. His recruitment started to really pick up after an impressive senior year in which he improved greatly from his junior season.

Boyd was one of the state’s leaders in tackles for loss with 27 last season while also contributing 70 tackles and nine sacks—all big jumps from the year before.

The 6′, 260-pound defensive tackle was made for the trenches. He is a tough football player with quick hands to pull off swim moves that leave offensive linemen grasping at air.

The senior was the anchor for the Roswell defense that was one of the best in the entire state of Georgia. He was named all-region both his junior and senior seasons.

Boyd is the first commit this year from the state of Georgia to Lenoir-Rhyne, to our knowledge. His infectious work ethic should be a welcome addition to their locker room, and we expect him to have a good college career in Hickory, North Carolina.
