Colquitt County senior John Samuel Shenker was offered by Auburn tonight. The War Eagles’ offer is close on the heels of Wake Forest, who offered back on January 18th and just like that, the athletic tight end has two Power 5 offers with just one weekend left before National Signing Day.
Shenker was one of the leading receivers for true tight ends in the state of Georgia with 451 yards on 31 catches, and was a First Team All-State selection on our website. The senior is an excellent receiver who uses every bit of his 6’4″ 240-pound frame to go up and snag the pass.
Prior to the last two Power 5 offers, the deceptive route-running tight end held scholarships from Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Mercer, Furman, UTC, ULM, FAU and Western Kentucky. He is one of the top uncommitted seniors still left in the state of Georgia, and his skills set would be perfect in a spread offense.
The next week should certainly be an exciting time for the athlete TE from down in Moultrie. It will be interesting to see if anyone else offers, and who will land that last official visit for the talented All-State tight end. Stay tuned to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest on Shenker and the rest of the recruits in the state of Georgia.
