Irby Fully Healthy, Ready to Make an Impact

Bryson Irby spent a portion of last season out with an injury, but rebounded strong for the second half of the season to produce quality film like what is posted above. The much anticipated junior year had a lot left to be desired for the 2020 recruit, but now that he is fully healthy, there is a certain degree of expectations for Irby going into his senior year.

“I am looking to rush for 1,000 yards and going deep in the playoffs with Alexander. While I sat out, I learned that there are no days off and I got to end my senior year off good.

A popular favorite among local running backs when asked about who they model their game after has been Saquon Barkley of the Giants, and for Irby, that was no different. “I model myself as a Saquon Barkley – he is very explosive.”

His recruitment has not gone completely quiet though, as the 2020 recruit confirms that he has some FBS interest still. “The main college that’s looking at me right now is Memphis, and as the season goes, I will see if I have any visits lined up,” Irby said.

No doubt, Irby was still able to make a quick impact in 2018 for Alexander, but didn’t get the full effect of his talents that season. Now that Alexander has a fully healthy Irby, and you can expect to see the former Elite Georgia Sophomore All-Star taking his team to success in 2019, while also getting more college attention. Irby has a big frame weighing over 200 lbs., and will continue to add solid weight in college, making him one of the more intriguing senior power backs still uncommitted in the state of Georgia.

Alexander will once again look to compete in the tough region 5 in 6-A. Irby and his fellow senior classmates have a good bit of experience under their belt at key play-making positions, so they will definitely be a team to monitor as their senior year progresses. Irby’s ability to churn out tough yards, and play behind his pads is some of the best in the entire classification, and will surely be a huge asset to Alexander this year. If he eclipses 1000 yards, Irby would be the 5th Alexander back in the last 6 years to accomplish such a feat per Derrick Mahone of the Douglas Sentinal.

A solid start to his season, and you can expect more colleges to jump on the radar for Irby, so stay tuned to @RecruitGeorgia on Twitter to hear the latest on Bryson Irby. Click HERE to visit his Recruit Georgia profile.
