Week 2 Power Rankings

Can you believe it? We are officially into the 2019 football season, and our Preseason Power Rankings have already taken a hit, and with out any doubt, needed to be updated. To no real surprise, our Class 6-A rankings have already been shaken up with Creekside dropping from #2 after losing to Westlake. In Class 2-A, previous #1 ranked Callaway loss to Opelika (6-A team in Alabama) 10-7, which puts Rockmart back up to #1 after they thumped Cedartown in their opener. Several more movers and shakers across the state with only Class A Private being mostly untoched, but for the most part, our initial 2019 rankings are holding strong with no glaring misstep just yet – we will see how well that stands in the coming weeks.

Now for the usual spiel: we have added a ‘Bubble’ section for teams just on the cusp of being in the Power Rankings and also an ‘Out’ to signify teams that have just recently been removed from the rankings.

Why is Dublin 8th in this poll and continues to drop?

    1. Right now, I think Dublin is a quarterfinal caliber team, and do not really feel like changing that opinion just after Week 1. Heard losing to LaGrange had little impact in my rankings, but you could argue about flipping those two, I guess. It’s just after week 1, I’m not going to make heavy changes from what I thought going into the season.

7A- Marietta should be #1 after a dominant performance over Roswell. Colquitt #2 after beating North Gwinnett, McEachern #3, Archer #4 and Parkview #5

You know it’s the beginning of the season . I will take stats in the middle of the season. Also, noted all the teams in class 7 are all high in your opinion from up around Atlanta that’s why our WILDCATS from southern Georgia are a GREAT TEAM which you don’t recognize until we have beaten y’all from northern Georgia. You might want to keep your eyes and ears open as the CAMDEN COUNTY WILDCATS ARE A TEAM TO BE RECKON WITH.

    1. There just not that many South Georgia teams in 7-A. When are ppl going to stop this? Re-classification happened back in 2016, and I keep hearing this each year. If anything, South Georgia has the highest percentage represented in the top 10 BY FAR.

Mount Zion going to be in the bubble after we beat stars mill

  5. There are only 4 Class 7A Teams in South Georgia. There used to be more, before reclassification.
