Impressive Senior Film for Melton Brown

Jefferson County senior Melton Brown certainly has film that jumps out at you. The run stopping defensive lineman is a load to stop, and his raw strength in combination with an array of swim moves makes him a nightmare for opposing offensive tackles. He is seriously slept on, and is one of the better senior defensive lineman in the state of Georgia.

Jefferson County’s defense has been dominant this fall and the 6’4″ 264 lineman’s physical play in the trenches is one reason why. Brown has a big frame and that could potentially mean a position switch at the next level depending on the defensive scheme he falls into.

He currently holds offers from Tulane, Samford, UTSA, Mercer, The Citadel, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Northern Iowa and Southern Mississippi. The senior has had an outstanding start to his senior season (watch highlight video above if you don’t believe me), which should to attract even more FBS/FCS attention in the coming months.

Playing in Class AA, Brown might be suffering a recruiting disadvantage from the mainstream recruiting media, but the big man can absolutely play the game. He sees the field very well and has excellent lateral quickness to move across the line in pursuit of the ball carrier.

Tough yards are earned against Brown, and very few players gain additional yardage after making contact with the Jefferson County lineman due to his intense physical play style. He also has a great motor, and uses his speed to run down ball carriers even way down field.
