Good Friday for Brooks

It truly was a ‘Good Friday’ for Keyon Brooks as he earned offers from Troy, Arkansas State, and James Madison (as of 6:30 PM). The 2019 running back is no stranger on our site, we just ranked him one of the top 125 players in the state of Georgia last month, and the offers are beginning to match up.

“It feels great – I’m honored and blessed to get these opportunities on this Good Friday,” Brooks said.

Brooks was voted Cobb County Running Back of the Year over several backs with multiple Power 5 offers. The Kennesaw Mountain back has incredible vision, which allowed him to rush for 1515 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season. His ability to read defenders way down field and get them to take bad angles is a real talent, and that natural ability separates him from other backs in his class.

Brooks has been signed up with our site since his freshman year, and at first glance the gangly athlete did not physically look the part of a running back considering his longer 6′ frame, but his film showcases outstanding field vision, some of the best in the state of Georgia. He is growing into this body, and just in the last year he has added nearly 20 pounds to his frame – hovering right below 200 pounds.

South Alabama, Ball State, Western Michigan and Miami-Ohio have also submitted offers to the talented running back. We expect more colleges to get after Brooks over the next few months, and for him to grab a few Power 5 offers.

Brooks reminds us a lot of Brittain Brown from a few years back at Cherokee high school, who ended up doing great his redshirt-Freshman year at Duke last fall. The long body type is not traditional build, but their ability to see the field and accelerate through a hole is great at the high school level. Just like we predicted for Brown, we expect the 2019 recruit to rush for over 2 k yards his senior year.

Watch the 2019 running back add a more explosive element to his game this fall, and break off more long runs. Before all of that, expect Brooks to be a coveted summer camp invite among Power 5 and Group 5 schools.

Brooks has a busy schedule over the next month with confirmed visits to Vanderbilt on April 2nd, South Alabama April 7th, and Miami-Ohio April 14 (which he visited/offered back at the beginning of February). He also has potential visits with Maryland and Boston College.
