Egbe Breaks Down Recruitment

One of the more consistent starters for Grayson on their way to the 2016 Class 7A State Championship was middle linebacker Solomon Egbe. The hard-hitting linebacker might not have had the star notoriety like his fellow teammates, but was an equal contributor regardless.

Egbe is currently sitting with 9 offers (Harvard offered today) heading into spring practice, so Recruit Georgia caught up with the athletic linebacker to report his latest recruiting news.

“I have already visited 3 of the 9 offers I have, and those include Troy, Toledo, and Bowling Green,” Egbe said. “This summer, I plan to visit some of the Ivy league offers I currently have.”

Egbe has been working hard this offseason, focusing especially on his coverage skills. Now that the evaluation period is full-tilt, the 2018 linebacker sees spring practice as a big opportunity.

“My top goal for spring practice is to show how I’ve progressed physically and mentally since the end of last season.”

Egbe is currently rated one of the highest middle linebacker prospects in the state of Georgia according to our latest rankings. The 6′ 220-pound linebacker runs a blazing-fast 4.68 forty time, squats over 500 pounds, while also benching and cleaning over 300.

He plays with a chip on his shoulder and flows to the ball carrier with reckless abandon. That’s one reason why Virginia Tech, Louisville, Memphis, Army, Navy, Air Force, UAB, South Alabama, and Georgia Southern have all been in close contact lately.

Summer break is about a month away, and Egbe’s schedule already looks to be locked up with college camps. “I haven’t decided on all the camps I want to attend, but I will be attending camps at Duke, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Clemson, and Auburn.”
