Daetrich Harrington Visits Duke

There were a lot of question marks heading into last fall for Alexander football, but none bigger than who was going to replace star running back Mikell Lands-Davis (now at Georgia Tech). The question was put to bed rather quickly with the emergence of running back Daetrich Harrington.

The Class of 2017 back had an outstanding season rushing for 1527 yards on 237 carries for 17 total touchdowns.

hVE6sf3TAn impressive debut, and one that certainly caught the attention of college coaches. Duke has made an early push for the young back and got him to visit last weekend for a junior day.

Harrington told Recruit Georgia a little about his visit.

“The Duke visit was great. I saw a wonderful campus and great atmosphere overall.” Harrington continued, “Everything went smooth and I enjoyed my time visiting.”

One of Recruit Georgia’s first coaches to follow is Requan Boyette (the running backs coach at Duke) so it was no surprise to learn that he is involved with the Alexander running back.

“My lead recruiters are coach Boyette and Coach Keimach.”

The 2017 athlete has a good frame at 6′ 180 and should continue to fill out. He is a good one-cut and go back but also displays soft hands catching out of the backfield.

When asked about future visits the Alexander star back said, “I plan on visiting Georgia State this Saturday and NC State, Charlotte, & Georgia Tech soon.”

This is just the beginning of the process for Harrington, who currently has no offers, but is sure to get a lot of FBS attention in the coming months due to his outstanding blend of athleticism and size at running back.
