Earlier this evening Chase Darnell announced that he committed to Davidson. The athletic senior defensive end from Cambridge High School announced via Twitter: “Blessed to say that I’ll be wearing red and black for the next four years of my life.”

Darnell was offered by Davidson on July 10 and it was his first offer. The athletic defensive end/outside linebacker prospect is 6’3″ 210-pounds and does a great job of getting after the quarterback. 

He has great lateral quickness and a terrific motor. Darnell does a great job of continuing to pursue the ball-carrier and plays well with his eyes. The senior defensive lineman plays with really good leverage and sheds his blocks at the high school level with ease.

Recruit Georgia thinks he could play OLB in a 3-4 or be an impressive situational pass-rusher at the next level for Davidson. 

Darnell is the first commit for Davidson in the class of 2016.
