Brown Offers Tucker Barnes

Lowndes rising senior Tucker Barnes received an offer from Brown earlier today. The Ivy League school is his third offer to date, following earlier offers from Campbell and Davidson.

Barnes announced his new offer via Twitter:

The offseason has been chock-full of college visits, workouts, and camps for the fundamentally sound center. Barnes spoke about the offseason grind:

“The offseason is going great, I’ve been working really hard to try to get faster. The team is really coming together and bonding.”

With a 4.325 GPA and 1780 (3 Part) SAT Barnes offer from Brown should be the beginning of Ivy League interest. The big offensive lineman said he is also hearing from Dartmouth and Yale.

Watch Barnes on film and you see a player who is explosive at the point of attack. As soon as he snaps the ball, Barnes is out of his stance drilling the defensive lineman. He uses his hands excellently, and does a great job of getting leverage.

The Lowndes class of 2017 player makes some really nice pancakes against solid 3-4 star level defensive tackles. Barnes stands 6’4″ and has a FBS center’s frame. Lowndes competed against arguably the toughest in-state schedule last season, which has given Barnes experience against top-flight competition.
