Bayou Tigers Land Tory Carter

Class of 2017 H-Back prospect Tory Carter announced earlier tonight that he had committed to Louisiana State University. The Lee County star announced on Twitter:

Carter had two other offers but right after receiving his third during the Bayou Picnic he decided to verbally commit to the Tigers. Even though he is committed to LSU, the class of 2017 athlete has not completely shutdown his recruitment.

“I’m committed but I’m not closing my recruitment,” Carter told Recruit Georgia.

Carter has incredible strength and maxes out at 355 bench press, 565 squat, and 340 power clean. Georgia Tech was also heavily interested in the Lee Co. athlete but as a defensive end.

Carter is 10th commitment for LSU in the 2017 recruiting cycle and first one from Georgia. Ed Oregeron was his lead recruiter.

SCOOP:

Carter is really fast off the ball for a guy his size. He gets really low when blocking and just levels his opponent. He could also get a little bigger and become a formidable strong side defensive end. His versatility to play on either side of the makes him an intriguing prospect, and many schools will recruit him as an athlete early on. At first we thought he would fit best at DE but after rewatching his film we see how he fits as a Power 5 blocking H-Back. Carter plays with a motor that never stops and is relentless blocker on the field. He should give SEC linebackers and safeties nightmares once he gets on campus.
