Mike Harris is a promising recruit that we have highlighted since last summer as a potential Power 5 football player, and that promise seems to have been finally realized in the last few weeks. Colleges have had Harris on their radar for some time now, but his last offer from reigning SEC champion Alabama proves to be the biggest.
Alabama’s offer is close on the heels of Harris’ offer/visit to Athens last weekend. UGA was a big offer for the Lovejoy athlete, and being the hometown team means a lot to the local recruit, but in the coming weeks more P5’s like Alabama are certain to offer, and his recruitment could change drastically.
From talking around the grapevine, expect more colleges to jump on board and offer, especially at a national level. Aside from the offers previously listed, Harris has received scholarships from Georgia State, Auburn, Syracuse, Iowa State this month. He currently have 13 total offers at this moment.
Harris has excellent size at 6’3″ and 213-pounds, but also maintains elite agility to change direction on a dime. He does a great job of keying in on the play, and his ability to anticipate, then attack is second to none in Georgia. Lining up in the middle of the defense, Harris was a physical presence at inside linebacker for Lovejoy last year, bringing the heat on each and every play.
