2018 WR Rankings Version 1.0

Version 1.0 of the Recruit Georgia WR Position Rankings starts off as a Top 16. We are going deeper at this position because the initial talent pool is steeped with dynamic playmaking ability.

Starting the year off #1 is multi-talented athlete Matthew Hill of Brookwood. As a junior he caught 41 passes for 849 yards and nine touchdowns. He also added 625 yards rushing and eight scores. Hill was honored by the AJC as AAAAAAA First Team All-State. He currently has more than 15 FBS offers.

One of the most intriguing receivers in the class of 2018 is Baldwin’s Jatavious Harris. Harris finished second in the 200-meters and fourth in the 100-meters as a sophomore. His ability to stretch the field and excel as a kick returner has attracted six FBS offers to date.

Coming in at #3 is Marquez Ezzard if Stockbridge. This past season he hauled in 50 passes for 1,015 yards and 12 touchdowns. Ezzard was named AAAAA First Team All-State by Recruit Georgia and Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC. He already has more than a dozen offers at this time.

The next two receivers both play at Mays High School in Atlanta. Amir Abdur-Rahman caught 28 passes for 337 yards and seven touchdowns through nine games his junior season. Teammate Jamarcus McCoy snagged 30 passes for 452 yards and six touchdowns through ten games. The stats are not complete as Mays finished the season (11-2/8-0).

Making his entry at #6 is Malachi Carter of Mountain View. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound wide out had 58 catches for 1,012 yards and 11 touchdowns in the first ten games. Carter was named First Team All-Region.

Screven County receiver Tyquan Johnson was named AA First Team All-State by both Recruit Georgia and the AJC. As a junior he caught 32 passes for 822 yards and 13 touchdowns. That works out to a 25.7 yards per reception average.

Rounding out the Top Eight is Josh Vann of Tucker. Vann helped guide the Tigers to the GHSA-AAAAAA State Championship game by catching 63 passes for 1,286 yards and 13 scores. Vann was named AAAAAA First Team All-State by Recruit Georgia and Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC.
