Version 1.0 of the Recruit Georgia OLB Position Rankings starts off as a Top Ten. This list includes stem-winders and hybrid safety/linebackers.

Coming in at #1 is stem-winder Quay Walker of Crisp County High School. This past year he racked up 109 tackles, 19 TFL’s and eight sacks while leading the Cougars their first 13-win season in school history. Walker also caught 11 passes for 157 yards and two scores. He was named Recruit Georgia’s AAA First Team All-State and AJC Honorable Mention All-State.

Possibly the most complete hybrid safety/linebacker in Georgia is Otis Reese of Lee County. Reese was honored as both Recruit Georgia and AJC AAAAAA First Team All-State. The Michigan commit makes his entry at #2.

Quin Williams of Morgan County is the highest rated outside linebacker from North Georgia coming in at #3. This past season he led the Bulldogs to an undefeated Region Championship. Williams was named AAA Honorable Mention All-State by the AJC.

Colquitt County stem-winder JJ Peterson makes his entry at #4. The versatile standout recorded 59 tackles, 11.5 TFL’s and 6.5 sacks. He also caught two touchdown passes and returned a kickoff for score for the Packers.

Valdosta won the GHSA-AAAAAA State Championship this past season. Leading the way on the defensive side of the ball was Zakoby McClain. McClain racked up 123 tackles, 20 TFL’s and two sacks for the Wildcats. The Recruit Georgia AAAAAA All-State performer comes in at #5.
